Falling Masonry EP
Description
The three tracks encompass the general mood and feel of what is about to come on the full-length Everything Must Change, due in January 2010.
Like most of the tracks on the LP, the title song ‘Falling Masonry’ was recorded with Georg’s live band plus a few guest musicians. It is a soul and rock influenced ballad. There are certain elements of Al Green as well as Led Zeppelin or even The Beatles if you listen closely. It starts off slowly and sensual before getting into a built part in the middle until it finally reaches its dramatical climax, supported by a string section, psychedelic noises and distorted guitars.
‘Runaway’ is an early eighties influenced, laid back pop song with some rhythmic disco elements, analogue synths plus a horn section. There will be a video by Paranoid Picture’s Tobias Perse due to be shot in New York in mid-June. The song will be featured on Dixon’s next compilation for Innervisions.
‘The Better Life’ sees Georg in old form duetting with his longtime partner Clara Hill. Like some of his previous releases, this song sounds like a funky soul classic yet still it is undeniably fresh and TODAY. Masters At Work’s Louie Vega, Phil Asher and Boddhi Satva are working on remixes for this, which will be released later this summer.
