Once Upon A Time In The North

Once Upon A Time In The North is the first single from the forthcoming album Slavic Souls by the hugely popular Finnish jazz sextet Dalindèo. Composer and band leader Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen says about it:
‘Once Upon a Time in the North” is one of the defining tracks of the upcoming “Slavic Souls” album. I’m always in the search for untried musical combinations and on this track I mixed a traditional Finnish tango-rhythm with a timeless soul-groove. The track has a melancholy but still hopeful mood that I very often reach for, a kind of a longing very much felt in 1960’s Finnish dance music.’
