Malvaho - Dando Lecciones (Harari Rework)
Description
Malvaho’s original composition, Dando Lecciones (in English, Giving Lessons) genuinely is a masterclass in combining rock and a heavy bassline disco with a synth-pop groove that absolutely works as an infectious dancefloor filler. Dando Lecciones is a killer track coming as the 2nd digital single release from the forthcoming and rather excellent BBE Music compilation Danza Secreta: Hidden Grooves from Argentina (1970-1980).
Ariel Harari, co-compiler of Danza Secreta alongside Ric Piccolo, has given Dando Lecciones the rework treatment that emphasises the uplifting and innate funkiness of the track whilst showcasing the musicianship of Cristian Hansen, Cristian Hubert and Juan Jose Vanrell, the trio who make up Malvaho. Coming initially from a Rock background the trio formed Malvaho to explore Italo-Disco, synth-pop, funk and Rap versions of cover tracks. However, in Dando Lecciones they composed and created an audaciously addictive offering that combines all of the above.
Coming at a time when when Far-Right politicians and a military Junta was ruling Argentina with an oppressive climate of fear, a secret police and an emphasis on so-called ‘traditional values’ it was artists such as Malvaho that, along with the other acts and bands on the Danza Secreta compilation, gave the youth and the free of thought the soundtrack to their rebellion against the heavy controls placed on the people by the Generals.
Dando Lecciones is released as the 2nd digital single from the compilation Danza Secreta and, along with the previous release, is a great showcase for the album as well as as a fantastic track for the dancefloor and any party. Get it, you’ll love it.
