Three years on from the release of Rhys Adams aka YesKing’s ‘Re-Record… Not Fade Away’, we are delighted to live up to the album’s title by presenting two previously unheard remixes of standout tracks ‘Hardground’ and ‘Overproof’.
Featuring heart-stopping vocals by Mel Uye-Parker & Rioghnach Connolly, ‘Hardground’ was the album’s lead single and it’s easy to see why. Bittersweet, understated atmospheres call to mind vintage Massive Attack and Portishead, while Rhys’s deft arrangement builds the track into a horn and drum-laden epic. Providing a vintage version in their own unique style, legends in their own bath-time Crazy P are first up on remix duties. Surely one of the best live acts on the planet right now, the UK outfit’s rework is full of funky guitar licks, classic piano chords and live percussion, creating a disco-crossover anthem of sizeable proportions.
