The BBE Store: now open at The Institute Of Light, London
Our BBE popup store is now open for business all summer long at The Institute of Light, located under the railway arches close to London Fields, alongside incredible Brazilian food and a cinema.
To celebrate our 20th year, we’re be inviting a selection of musical movers and shakers from London’s vibrant music scene and beyond to join the party at our pop-up shop, open for three months during the summer of 2016. Enjoying great relationships with BBC radio’s Gilles Peterson & Craig Charles as well as London institutions MiSoul, Soho Radio, NTS and Boiler Room puts BBE in an ideal position to attract local and touring artists to drop into IOL, sign some records, cook up some food or even perform. Having a summer home in the capital gives us an opportunity to mark this momentous occasion with friends old and new.
London record store legend Jeremy Newall is behind the counter, selling a lovely selection of new and used vinyl from BBE, plus friends and family.
The Institute of Light is Hackney’s newest collaborative space – a one-stop cultural hub set in an enigmatic railway arch and intimate courtyard under the rumble of the old “Great Eastern Jazz Line” IOL works as a multi-sensory space; a repertory cinema; vinyl record store; film, music and photography bookshop, and social cafe – all under one roof and programmed around an exquisite restaurant & bar offering.
