DJ Spinna has been a purveyor of quality music since the beginning of his production career. Over the past seven years, DJ Spinna has established himself as one of the hardest working producers in the industry. He has produced numerous tracks and remixes for notable artists such as Michael Jackson, De La Soul, DAS EFX, MC Eiht, George Michael, Mary J. Blige, Ronny Jordan, Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch, EMINEM, Jungle Brothers, Grand Puba, Sadat X and Polyrhythm Addicts. DJ Spinna is part of the underground duo JIGMASTAS whose album was released on the Beyond Real Recordings label which he also co-owns.
Due to DJ Spinna's multi-dimensional sound, his
production credibility has expanded on a world wide level. He has contributed to the success of many European based groups
such as, Shawn Escoffery, Shirley Bassey, 4 Hero, Rae
& Christian, Attica Blues, Urban Species, Moke,
Nightmares on Wax, Phoebe One and Les Nubians.
In Japan, DJ Spinna has worked with DJ Krush, Shina
Jupei, Shaka Zombie, Soul Scream, Tiger and platinum
recording artist Double.
In June 1999, DJ Spinna released his own album
entitled "Heavy Beats, Volume 1" on Rawkus Records.
This album featured collaborations with EMINEM, Talib
Tariq of the Beatnuts, Problemz, Black Attack, Apani
B-Fly Emcee, Thirstin Howell, Joc Max.
From the album, the single entitled "Rock" remains a
dance floor classic throughout Europe and Japan.
Volume 1" is an underground Hip-Hop classic, and one
Rawkus' best selling albums.
Arguably, DJ Spinna is recognized as one of the best
DJ's worldwide. He has over fifteen years of experience
as a DJ, and has been collecting records since
childhood. DJ Spinna
started his professional career as a college jock at
Binghamton University. He has guest appeared on
Kiss FM (NY), and became a resident DJ on WBAI
DJ Spinna's visibility as a DJ and producer has allowed
him to tour Japan and Europe. He appeared as a guest
numerous radio programs including, J-Wave (Japan),
BBC1 (Europe), Xfm (London) Radio Nova (France),
Having a deep rooted and diverse background in music
gives DJ Spinna the ability to navigate crowds into
frenzies. His sets range from Hip-Hop, break beats,
R&B, rare grooves,
to classic soul, funk, jazz, disco classics, house and
vintage garage tunes.
DJ Spinna has already made history at the most
popular venues around the world like, Club Yellow
(Tokyo), The End (London) and Paradiso (Amsterdam).
On a national level, he has played at venues such as,
Double Door and Buddah Bar (Chicago), the Om
Records party at the Winter Music Conference (Miami),
the ongoing Phat-n-Jazzy party at the Saphire Club
(Orlando), the Diesel Jeans/Revolution Magazine party
at the Magic Show 2000 (Las Vegas).
In New York, DJ Spinna has played at the China Club,
S.O.B's, Tramps, The Spy Bar, The Tin Room, Filter 14,
Centro Fly, Vinyl, Shine and Guernica.
